About the Ask Dr. Math Project
This award winning internet site is directed at the K-12 math student. Its primary function is to answer questions about math topics and it has been extremely popular and continues to be a highly frequented web site by both students and parents/teachers. Highly recommended!!A "mega math" site...this website covers topics ranging from instructional material (K-12 and beyond). Teachers, parents, and researchers alike will find this a valuable site. The primary client here is math educators and it is a highly recommended site for others interested in locating resources dedicated to math instructional materials and methods.
A links page, this website contains several good problem and puzzle links as well as instructional sites. Good for K-12 students, parents / teachers.
Appetizers and Lessons for Mathematics and Reason
A MUST VISIT for all !!! A truly fun and challenging place for everyone interested in testing and /or improving their reasoning and problem solving skills and abilities. This is a great place for any age group. A good family learning spot as well, "Appetizers and Lessons" can keep you challenged for days at a time with its many logic based question. Additionally, there are links to algebra, linear algebra, calculus, advanced geometry, and several other more advanced math subjects. Go there and grow!!!
The Geometry Center Web at a Glance
This website is for the more advanced student and researcher of geometry on the world wide web. Many important links are available here.
Mathematics Problem Solving Task Centers
An Australian based website, this site is linked to a broader national educational "task center" program which uses on-line teaching methods as a fundamental instructional method of reaching students and teachers.

The Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers home site is primarily for educators. Take time to explore their approach to math instruction. A great model.http://forum.swarthmore.edu/mathmagic/what.html Mathmagic is a K-12 telecommunication project that uses the team approach to learning by offering a competitive approach to problem solving and teaching. Students are instructed to develop teams and then to pair those teams with other on-line participants in order to solve a wide range of math problems and to post their answers and on going discussions with other teams Once an agreed upon solution is developed, the paired teams will post their solutions and can then compare strategies and answers to other participating teams. Teams can be formed on-line. A nice approach to learning.
History Topics is a topical historical
index of a broad range of mathematical discoveries and developments. Topics ranging from
relativity to calculus to Babylonian mathematics are covered here. A "must
visit" site for all math students of all backgrounds and
most age groups.
A look at ancient mathematical evolution, this site makes for easy reading and great
discussion. Another "must visit" website !!!
A broader view of the chronology of mathematics, this sites explores the origins of
the fundamentals of mathematics via the evolution of civilization...A must see!
This site is an interesting mapping of the birthplaces of many important
mathematicians...good reading and eye opening website.
Indexes of Biographies is an interesting chronological and alphabetized biographies
of the most influential mathematicians ....another great educational site.
A Chronology of Mathematicians
This very nicely done chronological graphing of mathematicians from 700 B.C. to
1947...is a great "at a glance" overview of the lives of mathematicians from all
periods and places.
This website is indeed what it's title implies, an overview of historical
mathematics. The text includes "clickable" names of the major mathematicians of
that period leading the reader to the respective bibliographical web pages.
An award winning website, this site features chronological, bibliographical, and
geographical information on women mathematicians. There is a separate section of
photographs of many of the women featured on the site.
A
Brief History of Algebra and Computing: An Eclectic Oxonian View
The history of Algebra, including many little known theories regarding its origins,
is well deserving of exploration. Al-Jabra = algebra...think about that!!
http://www.seanet.com/~ksbrown/ihistory.htm
This website looks at the history of mathematics from a topical viewpoint.
Mental
Arithmetic
The extraordinary memory and calculating powers of various mathematicians is the focus of
this website. The phenomenal calculating feats of VonNeumann, Wallis,Aitken, and others
are indeed a true manifestation of the mental potentiality that exist within all of us.
There are also descriptions of the incredible mental calculations of non-mathematicians.
Get motivated an inspired...visit this website !
