: : Brother Khalimah you seem like a wise brother;I need your [somebody's]help. I am a sister who lives in Cleveland,Ohio. After the success of the Million Man March I started to pay a little attention to the Nation of Islam. I have always been a strong believer in Christianity;I was raised on this religion. After the march I was wondering "Why hasn't a black Christian leader been able to call a million(plus) black men in a peaceful assembly?" After the Million Family March (at which two of my favorite stars appeared-Whitney Houston and Puffy Combs)I started to consider going to my local mosque to learn more about Islam. I thought "If one man [Louis Farrakhan]can pull off two historical marches he must be backed by GOD!"(I want to be on the "right side in these "last days"). Now after reading the messages on this message board about Mosque #18,I don't know what to do now. At first I was thinking that the messages from the brothers might be out of jelousy and envy for the officals and minister. But after reading the messages from Sister C. and Sister So and so I don't know what to think about the Nation of Islam. I don't think I am going to go to the mosque now. I am starting to see thru the falsehood of Christianity but now I don't know where to go. Maybe my husband and I will maybe try Buddhism. Does anyone know anything about Buddhism on this Website? Sister Latisha Brown.

: Pleeease sister, slow down, before you make that move to Buddism. Though I'm sure Buddism is a peaceful religion, the Black man and women in America NEEDS Islam! Don't be concerned about what madness is going on in Mosque #18, if there is any madness at all there, we are both on the outside looking in. Allah is everywhere!! He is in you. From reading your email, you sound like you're already a Muslim. Please, you and your husband should purchase and read THE MESSAGE TO THE BLACK MAN by THE MOST HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD and REAL LOVE by Min. Ava Muhammad. (I tell all sista's to read that book.) One mistake that people make when they are new to the NOI is placing all of its followers on pedistals. Whenever you have an organization, there is always going to be some dis-organization! Those on the outside looking in think we are perfect because we seem so disciplined, but we're far from perfect, we are all students! Return to Islam for peace and sanity of you and your family, if things are not right at #18, rest assured that they will be corrected!(and I don't mean by some spook 'God). Just be patient and remember, eventhough they may be officials, they still put their pants on one leg at a time just like you so don't be afraid to ask questions or challenge those that may be doing wrong. We are all STRIVING to be perfect Muslims, I'm so fortunate that Allah has bestowed his grace and mercy on me on more than one occassion. Keep your head up sister and I look foreward to you becoming LaTisha Muhammad some day! Definitely read those books I suggested. Always remember, if you see something wrong, fix it! If you don't know how to fix it, call headqtrs. in Chicago, they will help you(the Sister Capt.) After all sister, the Mosque is there for YOU. So make it how you want it!
Thank you for your HUMBLENESS....I know now why this is happening..I too will return and make things happen--THE RIGHT WAY, TRUTH WILL PREVAIL.
ALL PRAISE IS DUE TO ALLAH!!
