Brother, the Ministers of Messenger Elijah Muhammad are at your disposal to help you and give you information if you like, but what you are seeking and the sound questions and concerns that you raise, cannot be adequetly addressed on ANY MESSAGE BOARD! I have a question for any 5%ers who are registered with the Nation. I first recieved life in the year born culture. I strayed away for a couple of years and then I came back to Allah's mathematics within the past year or so. Now I'm looking for something more, some spiritual fullfilment. The Gods that I come in contact with have sharp swords but in all honesty they tend to be unproductive. I spend more time in ciphers smoking blunts and 'building' then I care to. Don't get me wrong, like I said brothers have sharp swords I get better insight every time I build with the gods but one thing has been bothering me: The fact that I am not registered in the F.O.I.
When I first recieved life I was a dread and I smoked weed ALL THE TIME . I mean every waking hour was spent either smoking weed, trying to get some weed or finding the person who knew somebody who had some. So at the time registering with the F.O.I wasn't an option. Now 6 years later I smoke about once a week, maybe once every two weeks. I've also slowed down my drinking. I probably drink a couple of times a month. So being in the F.O.I. seems more reasonable now, or more realistic.
So the question is, how do I go about registering? What should I expect? The F.O.I's I've talked to say its the greatest thing in the world, but I would expect them to hype it up. I would like to know from anybody who has been registered. Do I have to give up weed and alchohol entirely, or can I drink in the privacy of my own home? This might seem silly to you but it is a real concern.
With the Million Family March coming up I cant help but to think I would be more worthy, and I would be serving my people if I was registered. but at the same time I don't want to give up my freedom so I can be a follower. That's what attracted me to the 5% nation in the first place.
Anyway, any gods who have been there and can tell me what steps to take and whether or not those steps are worth taking I would be much obliged. (I talked to the gods in my cipher and they all discouraged me)
